This year we had our first seminary sacrament meeting. It was the longest
sacrament meeting we have ever had, but it was worth every minute. We asked each
of the students to choose a person from the Old Testament they felt was a
great example of faith in Jesus Christ. It was suggested that they speak for
about three minutes. We have nine students, all of whom came and were prepared.
Some went a little longer, but their talks were very well done and
individual, representing their testimony of the things they have learned. Later in
class I asked them to all give an example for another purpose and they again
shared even more about their individual. It had a great impact on each of them.
We also allowed some make up work time for doing this. For the last week of
seminary they have all chosen one of the last prophets to teach about. I feel
one of the best things the students can do is develop their confidence and
testimony through teaching each other.
