[Teachldsseminary] Seminary Sacrament Meeting

We have a "Seminary Sunday" every year in our building that focuses on the book of scripture that we have studied that year. Every year it has been amazing. We have 3 wards that meet in our building and the youth meet together in 4 early morning classes. On Seminary Sunday they present the program in each of the ward sacrament meetings. There is a special spirit that accompanies the youth as they testify of Jesus Christ. Last year the congregation joined us for the closing hymn of "The Spirit of God". Wow!
We had several special musical numbers in that program. This year we focused more on youth speakers sharing their thoughts about different Old Testament prophets/heroes/heroines and how they inspired them in their own life. I was very impressed with what the youth shared. We usually have a narrated script that ties the music and talks together. Depending on where your strengths are with your group you can plan it around them. Last year we had a penny whistle solo in the middle and intro to "Hie to Kolob". It was huge in inviting the spirit. Unforgettable. We stress to the youth to share from their hearts whether in music or word. Sometimes there is grumbling along the way but after I always meet with them to let them know how lives were touched because of them. Seminary Sundays are a great way to let the younger youth see what they can look forward to. It is a wonderful way to share with families and it is an opportunity for youth to testify of
Jesus Christ. It is one of the highlights of our seminary year. You don't need to worry about filling the time, you may actually wish you had more time!
