[Teachldsseminary] Thanks for the Daniel help!

Thanks dear Listies for all the suggestions on teaching Daniel in the Lion’s Den!   I have been paying attention to your discussions re: Daniel so I used a lot of your suggestions and elements.  It was a Super Awesome lesson on Daniel this morning!  
 
I began with that great quote one of you suggested (“Dare to be a Daniel”) and ended with it too.  I kept it simple and we read the entire 6th chapter, then we discussed the chapter, topic by topic.  We talked about the “lions” out there that are trying to eat us spiritually and how to combat them.  One of the students brought up the story in the Book of Mormon of Alma and Amulek witnessing the righteous being burned, and before I could ask, one of the other students was flipping to it and read the account.  Then I reiterated yesterday’s lesson about the fiery furnace and the “But if not…” part of that scripture.  We watched the short video re: Daniel in the lion’s den on the new DVD then I bore strong testimony that if they strive to do the right and to stay close to the Lord, He will save them from the lions out there.  The Spirit was there, and I know they all felt it!
 
And to be even cooler—one of my students who doesn’t pray much at all publicly volunteered to give the opening prayer!
