If you haven't yet taught Ezra 9-10, I found a wonderful "dating
decisions" game in the New Era, from February, 1971, p. 19. (You can find
it by going through lds.org and doing a search in past New Era magazines.)
The game is entitled, "Me and the Marry-Go-Round." The point of the game is
Mary Mormon is bored, and Norman Nonmormon calls her and asks for a date.
Everyone starts in topic 1, and three possible decisions are given.
Based on the decision you make, you are directed to different numbered
topics throughout the game, until you reach the end and see what the
possible effects are from your various decisions. It's a kind of
make-your-own-adventure sort of game--everyone who plays will make different
decisions, and will have different results. You could replay it over again
and make different decisions, to see what the different result might be.
You could have your class play it all together, in groups, or make copies
and have each individual play alone.
I thought this would be a fantastic way to apply the teachings from Ezra
9-10 where the prophet tries to teach the people to put away the heathen
wives they have taken from the idolatrous nations that surround Israel.
