Dear Teachers,
I guess this quote is going around again. The following is an email
from the Church Office Building CES Administrators Council. Please
read carefully and follow the directions even more carefully. If it
is used in a devotional please let everyone know that it is false.

Subject: False "War in Heaven" Statement
A notice reiterating the spurious nature of the war in heaven statement was
recently sent to priesthood leaders from the office of the First
Presidency. The notice, which is dated 25 February 2008, states the
following:
A statement has been circulated that asserts in part that the youth of the
Church today were generals in the war in heaven . . . and [someone will]
ask you, which of the prophets time did you live in? and when you say
Gordon B. Hinckley a hush will fall, . . . and all in attendance will bow
at your presence.
This is a false statement. It is not Church doctrine. At various times,
this statement has been attributed erroneously to President Thomas S.
Monson, President Henry B. Eyring, President Boyd K. Packer, and others.
None of these Brethren made this statement.
Care should be taken to not perpetuate this false statement in any way. It
should not be a part of any lesson or presentation and it should not be
used in other interaction with students.
