Here are some ward bulletin "teasers" to get the seminary students (and the
ward) interested in seminary beginning in a few weeks. I reward anyone who
can give the scripture reference with the answer. The "treat" I give out
for anyone who answers (seminary or non seminary!) is a stick of gum.

SEMINARY SPOT: July 6 Hey Seminary students!
* Get a head start on your New Testament Reading - this week read
Matthew 1-16.
* Mark the first three Scripture Mastery Scriptures in your New
Testament-Matthew 5:14-16 ( Ye are the light of the world); Matthew 6:24 (No
man can serve two masters); and Matthew 16:15-19 (Thou are the Christ, the
Son of the living God.).
* Here is a New Testament Question of the Week: According to Jesus,
what is the greatest commandment? Give Sister Mitchell the answer AND the
scripture reference today and get a treat! (You don't have to be a seminary
student to participate!)
SEMINARY SPOT: July 13-
* Seminary Reading this week-Matthew 17 through Mark 2.
* Remember to mark the next three Scripture Mastery Scriptures-
Matthew 25:40 (If ye have done it unto one the least., ye have done it unto
me); Luke 24:36-39 ("A spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see he
have."); John 3:5 ("Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he

* Seminary Students! Keep reading! You're doing great! Here's the

* Mark these Scripture Mastery Scriptures John 17:3 ("This is life
eternal, that they might know. God, and Jesus Christ."); Acts 7:55-56
(Stephen "being full of the Holy Ghost, . saw. the Son of man standing on
the right hand of God."); Romans 1:16 ("I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ.")
* Question of the Week: In Jesus' parable of the three servants, two
servants are approved and one is rebuked. What did the rebuked servant do?

* This week's reading is John 6 - John 19
* Scripture Mastery Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:40-42 (There is one
glory of the sun, the moon, and the stars); Ephesians 4:11-14 (And he gave
some, apostles, some, prophets; evangelists; pastors and teachers; For the
perfecting of the saints); 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 (that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first).
* Question for this Week: Jesus taught that people would be better off
drowned in the sea than doing what?

This little 'teaser' over the summer time has really caught on in some of
