This is the text from the letter sent to General Authorities, stake, mission, and District Presidents, Bishops and Branch Presidents from the First Presidency:

"Effective immediately, volunteer teachers and supervisors for seminary and institutes of religion are to be called, set apart, and released by or under the direction of local stake presidents.  Previously Seminaries and Institutes of Religion personnel appointed these teachers and supervisors.  This change modifies section 12 of the Church Handbook of Instructions, Book 1.

"Seminaries and Institutes of Religion personnel will continue to orient and provide materials and training for volunteer teachers and supervisors and may be consulted prior to extending the call.  Early selection of teachers by stake presidents would provide time to train teachers properly before classes begin."

  I saw a member of our stake presidency tonight and he told me that they have received instruction that "Seminary teacher" is now to be a calling and that Seminary teachers are to be set apart.  Anyone else heard this?  I wonder if this has to do with the changes in the structure from CES to Seminary & Institutes.
