As a tribute to President Hinckley, my students are practicing the "6
Bs" for the next six school days. Each morning I play an excerpt
from the original talk -- one B -- and my students write down one way
in which they can practice that principle before the end of the
day. They carry the paper in their pockets all day as a
reminder. A video tape of the talk should be in most Meetinghouse
Libraries. It is in a collection called "President Gordon B.
Hinckley Speaks to Parents and Youth." The tape has three talks, the
first being the Nov. 12, 2000 fireside in which he introduced the 6
Bs. The opening few minutes of the talk are also an excellent
reminder of the connection Pres. Hinckley had with the youth. He
speaks of the challenges of his own youth, and how they were
similar/different than those faced by today's teens.
