[Teachldsseminary] Teach Job

Elder Douglas L. Callister of the Quorum of the Seventy was at our stake
conference this weekend for a Stake Presidency change and in the Adult
Session Sat. night stated something to the effect of "We know we came to the
earth to be tested - but what makes the test so difficult is that it isn't
the test we expected".  He went on to say that we might have expected to be
tested with financial challenges, or health challenges, etc., but we will
most likely not be challenged the way we were planning.  And we should pray
of the hand of the Lord.  He also reminded us that nothing of "value" can be
taken away from us when we keep our covenants - in keeping our covenants we
will have the things of value. (Both talks he gave were great, but the one
Saturday night was POWERFUL!)

As I was reviewing for this weeks lesson on Job (I teach home study once a
week) that thought came vividly back into my mind.  I was thinking of using
some sort of test, either an obstacle course or a written test - something
the kids aren't expecting - and talking about Job's test.  I haven't
perfected it and maybe someone out there can bring the idea full circle, but
I just kept thinking about the test we all have on this earth and how Elder
Callister is so right, it isn't the test we planned for, but we like Job can
pass the test and receive the blessings the Lord has in store for each of
us!

I am looking for a little help...I was a seminary teacher for the last three
years but now am in YW's.  I am subbing for our seminary teacher this week
and am stuck trying to come up with a creative way to teach Job.  I no
longer have my seminary files subscription so I can't check out that
resource.Thanks for any creativity you can send my way!!
