if you type in feast of Tabernacles you will pull up various sites to go to. I have read many. The one I liked the best was when the choices came up was the one that says google image result. It will pull up images and some of those images have a text to go with them. The third picture over of is a picture of the Pool of Siloam. click on that picture and you will read about the festivities of the Feast of Tabernacles. Go also to Lds.org and there is an article about the Hosanna shout by Reed Durham new era. The mention of the feast of tabernacles is at the end of article. there are other articles as well.
I understand I may have confused you. Yes the Messianic Jews are still looking forward for the first arrival of the Messiah whom they still don't believe is the son of God but will be a great prophet. But we have incorporated the Look for the Savior aspect into our seminary as we have been directed to teach the kids to see the Savior in what they read in the Old testament. So I have explained to the kids that the feast is a feast of Thanksgiving and praise to God for perserving them in the wilderness for those 40 years for providing water and food and light (libation of water, lighting of the temple) as well as the sukkot which was to remind them to look to God for their strength and survival. But they need to understand that the God of the Old testament whom they are referring to actually is Christ-- they have just missed the mark in realizing this and missed the mark continually even after he declared at the feast of Tabernacles in John * that he is the living water and to look for him for salvation etc. He is the light of the world, That is why they crucified him--they were looking for a great prophet to lead them and teach them to bring this 1000 years of peace but because they were blinded by traditions and politics, and thought there was to be this great big event happen before he came and blinded by satan they did not see what was right in front of their eyes. The savior stood in their midst and was there to bring in peace by the things that he taught and the commandments he asked us to keep; Love thy lord god and love they neighbor being the two greatest commandments. if we would just listen and do those two main things the world would be a peace. WE have eyes but do not see. how many of us pray and ask for help but then expect a big sign from on high-- when the answer may be standing right in front of us but we just can't believe it is that simple.
Since we are making the kids see the savior and the symbolism of him in these feasts which all the feasts are a symbol of the savior --I have said they look to the skies through the openings of their sukkot for rain from the lord for the new harvest, they have faith it will come, they have faith and they look to the heavens for the arrival of the Messiah (Christ) to come and reign in the 1000 years of peace which we know to be the second coming. Sukkot like a temple--we are to dwell in a house of thanksgiving and give thanks and pray and look to the savior for strength and direction and hope.
There are many many other things we have turned around based on modern day revelation and knowledge like the waving of the palms as a symbol of the savior and is triumphal entry into jeruselem. The four species of items used in the ceremony signifies that we are all one nation, all people have the atonement at work for them and that it does not matter how bad we are we will all still be resurrected because of the savior.
So if you base your celebration on just what the Jewish religion teaches then you would teach that they are looking for the first arrival of the Messiah and refer accordingly to the points of the celebration and the the rituals that take place.
I hope that clarifies what I was doing with our celebration. I by no means am an expert on the subject at all. But we are constantly going to look for the savior in all that we read this year in the O.T because in every story there is a hidden message or symbolism testifying that the Savior will be born into the world, that he will walk among men and that he atoned for our sins, that he was resurrected and that he will come again -- he will pour out his spirit on the earth(pouring of the water into the the silver bowl during F of T) missionary work and that he will cleanse the earth with fire and restore the light (lighting of the temple--fire that burns on candles) to the earth and live in peace for 1000 years.
Hope this helps
Laura

Are you talking about Messianic Jews? Because anything done in the ancient
temple would not have been for a "second coming" and not for anyone named
Christ. And certainly nothing current would signify a second coming, since
they are still waiting for the first one.
Maybe this is something they do for Shemini Atzeret or Simkhat Torah? Where
are you getting your information from, I'm intrigued. And would love to
include this as well, if I can find a good reference. Thanks.
Kim
