Have you ever played Matthew, Mark, Luke & John? That might work for a class that size. You'd need to break it up into two groups, but they would have fun.

Before class: make two big circles of chairs (half the class in each, obviously, so you'd probably want to do this one in the gym too, even though there isn't any running).

On the back of the chair write a SM reference; on the front of the chair (or on the legs of the chairs, my kids always end up taping them to their own leg) the key words for the same SM reference. (and I would use the key words from the scripture square - rhymes make it easier, you'll see why below...)

That's it. Your work is done. The rest of the work is up to the kids! Ha-ha, that's why I love this game.

When the kids come in, make sure they fill in all the seats.

The person sitting at Moses 1 is the leader (although, I don't tell them that until everyone has sat down).

The goal of the game is to get to THAT seat.

This is a rhythm game. two taps on your legs, two claps and a snap. Let the kids get the rhythm going fairly smoothly and then the person in the Moses 1 seat calls someone's keywords. Whoever has those keywords, must say their reference and someone else's key words without breaking the rhythm. So on the snap they say their reference and on the next snap they have to call someone else's keywords. Then the next person must say their reference on the snap and another person's key words *snap*. (It's important not to let the rhythm get too fast.)

When a person messes up the rhythm, their reference or another person's keyword, the game stops and they go to the end of the circle and everyone moves up a seat. THE SCRIPTURES AND KEY WORDS STAY AT THE SAME SEAT. So everyone is frantically trying to remember a new SM ref and key word and it's not work it's fun! (it's a great way for me to motivate some of my non participants to memorize the key words)

Hope this helps. If not, e-mail me and I will attempt to explain it better.

Although, has your stake thought about getting another seminary teacher? Then the fun really begins!!!

(This is only a good game at the beginning of the year, when the kids are less familiar with the SM, when I've played it in the second half of the year, I'll only put up the ref and the kids just have to KNOW the key words already.)
