I took my students outside to "build the ark"  and show the dimensions/size of the ark.  I had pre-measured yarn for the lengths and breadth and lightweight fishing line for the height.  We attached a helium balloon to the fishing line to show the height.  it was a good visual aid, but you need to prepare the yarn ahead of time or else it will take too much time.  Also, next time I will use several balloons on one fishing line to get the balloons to rise straighter into the air.
