I have a question about counting students tardy and want to know what other teachers do. I have a Senior boy who struggles with mornings. Last year he drove his brother to class. This year, he drives his brother and 2 other students. The other 2 students might not come if this young man did not pick them up. Last year, I did not count his brother tardy unless they said it was the brother who caused them to be late. I don't really want to start counting everyone late just because they ride with the Senior, but I don't want to enable the boy to be late all the time. I have had him all 3 previous years of Seminary. I have yet to see what motivates him. He is a very responsible young man, but just isn't engaging himself in Seminary. I am trying to really apply the teaching emphasis. It seems that he isn't here about half the time or that he is asleep or very sleepy when he is here. I am not sure how much he is getting. Any suggestions?
Should I just count him as tardy, but not the other rs? What can I do to help him see that his life will be blessed if he fully engages himself?

He rarely come prepared with a devotional. I have decided that next time he is not prepared with a devotional, I will ask him to share his testimony of the resorted gospel.

Thank you!
Barbara in IL
