Hello, I haven't posted on this email list before, so if I don't post
this correctly please forgive me. My name is Cassie, and I was just
assigned to team teach early morning seminary with another sister
from our ward.
Question # 1 - So do we or don't we chart the SM progress in the
classroom? In our inservice they showed us an example of a chart that
the building we were in uses, so I thought it was a good thing to do.
Question # 2 - I too would like to know where the trading cards are
located and what that program entails.
Question # 3 - someone had mentioned passing off SM and using OT
characters to go up the steps to the temple. I was wondering if you
found the characters online or where you got them. I like that idea
so any info. would be great.
Question # 4 - Many of our kids are Spanish/Portuguese speaking. This
will make it very difficult to teach SM as well as other things. We
will have a Priesthood holder there to translate when needed, but I'd
like to limit the need to have him translate because I feel like the
children need to strengthen their English skills, but I need to find
a good balance so that they still learn what they should and feel the
Spirit. Does anyone have any suggestions to "bridge the language gap"?
