[Teachldsseminary] Joseph and marrying in the covenant

Dear Fellow Volunteer Teachers,
I'm just struggling a bit to present this correctly to my class, since we made such a strong argument for the importance of marrying in the covenant with Isaac and Jacob. Now, we are into Joseph, and read where Pharoah gave him Asenath as his wife, who became the mother of Manassah and Ephraim. It would be a stretch to believe that Asenath was of the covenant. Do we know why Joseph didn't need to follow in his family's footsteps and take a vacation from Pharoah to go back home, or even to Haran, to find a covenant wife?

  Thanks--Chris Armstrong, West Union, OH
