Forgive me for getting personal, but I felt so strongly while
teaching this lesson to my early morning seminary class of 20 that I
had to share. Does one righteous youth make a difference? I can
answer with a resounding, "YES!" You see, my sixteen year old son,
Tyler passed away from a tragic drowning on August 1st and our family
has been in awe of the outpouring of letters that have given evidence
to this fact. The amazing thing is that he had no idea that by
choosing to live a righteous life, he was impacting so many people!
As I was preparing to teach this lesson to my seminary class, I
realized that this theme is repeated often through the old testament
and our youth today need to know that they are making a difference!
People are watching, noticing, and observing. Unfortunately our
youth will most likely never know the lives they touch - Tyler never
did, but the fact remains - they DO make a difference and they can't
let Satan convince them otherwise. Please feel free to read more
about Tyler and a small sampling of the comments that friends said
about him at http://1Life2Live.org. As you do, know that the tribute
letter is from a Jewish girl, and all of the comments from classmates
are non-members. It's amazing to see the maturity of the youth today
and witness how royal this generation is! There is a lot of
missionary work to be done - on both sides of the veil! If you have
personal comments, please send them to the website, and don't clog up
the seminary list - Thanks!
