[Teachldsseminary] New Game idea

I heard about a new game show on TV this fall called Let's play crosswords!
It sounds fun because it is until the last minute before you can know who
wins.

Here's the ideas I'm forming. Someone may have better ideas:

I immediately thought this could be made up into a great seminary review
game or a SM game. I haven't played it yet but hopefully will work this out
in the next week or so and will post my first one (unless someone else beats
me to this).

I may even do it this Friday to review information about the 12 apostles as
an introduction for General Conference. I could give a hint and they have
to figure out which apostle or 70 it would be for. . . just an idea.

Make up phrases for a SM and review game. This could be placed with a few
students or a lot divided up and it would not take up a lot of room.

Go to www.puzzlemaker.com to put in your answers (and hints if you want them
to do it by themselves).

You could either hand out sheets for each team to keep track of or do
individually or you could put it out big on a poster or on the blackboard.
I would let them pick which crossword space they wanted and then give them a
clue.

Ideas:

1. Can do phrases of SM by having them chase to find it and then tell which
phrase or word would fit.

2. Could read a SM and they have to figure out which SM it is and give the
rhymes that fit for the crossword.

3. Could do this as a review game with questions and they figure out the
word.

Points & spoilers:

It didn't say how to do points but I'm going to have them pick points of
various amounts from a cup. The game show has "spoilers" on it where they
trade points between contestants. I'll have "spoilers" in there like trade
points, etc. So it will be at the very end before we have a winner.
