It is better to use vegetable oil with the food coloring instead of  water.  
Makes a more dramatic effect and it lasts longer.  I've had my  "plagues in a 
jar" set for 8 years and now this makes 12.  I'm still using  the same "blood" 
I made.  For the 13th plague from the CES conference you  put a copy of the 
For The Strength Of Youth Pamphlet in a jar.  Really gets  them thinking about 
their obedience in following the prophet and obeying the  Lord.
