For those of you that have the Annotated Scriptures may I suggest a few
ideas for OT prep....
Moses: You'll find those words only found in Genesis highlighted throughout
Moses. It is amazing how much Joseph Smith added to our knowledge of truth
through his translations! I haven't been able to find this comparison
elsewhere which is why I included it there;
Readng the entire OT during the summer is always a bit daunting but you can
easily read through the outline and chapter headings organized for you prior
to each book; ie:
http://latter-dayvillage.com/annotated/ot/Law/Genesis_1/Genesis.htm
You will note that two outlines are included for Jeremiah; 1 with the verses
in numeric order and 1 with the verses in chronological order. Although this
is taught much later in the year it testifies to the belief that the book
was scrambled prior to inclusion in the OT.
If you have a class of 13 or more it is fun to set it up according to the
Camp of Israel which you can find at
http://latter-dayvillage.com/annotated/ot/Law/Numbers/Numbers2Cross%20References.htm#children_of_Israel_shall_pitch_by_his_own_standard,
Note that the when set up the leading tribe standards of Eagle, Man, Ox and
Lion surround the "mercy seat." This becomes of interest later in Ezekiel
and Revelations 5. Once a student is assigned a tribe they can be
responsible for following that tribe's outcome throughout the OT. With fewer
students you can use zones of 4 and achieve almost the same results.
By flipping through the "Next Back" buttons you can quickly peruse any
graphics you might want to get now. I think the first Mormon Ad is Genesis
39 but I'm still working on these.
Anything I can research and include for you just let me know. Hope this is
some help....
