[Teachldsseminary] QUESTION: OBJECTS

My kids love role play, but they love to have their skits video taped. Someday I hope to give each student a copy of the videos that they were in during their years of Seminary. I did not do it my first year of Seminary and really wish I had so that I could have all of my past students of video. I have missed a few over the years. They love watching the past videos. We have video taped news reports from New Testament times, the Angel Gabriel's visit to Zacharias and Mary, the story of Sherem from the Book of Mormon, and the Martyrdom of Joseph Smith (one of my favorite's to watch). I like to think that when they watch the videos they will remember the lessons they learned or how they felt when we studied those lessons in class.

So, if possible, I would add a video camera to the list of things to prepare to use for Seminary.

I hope this helps!
Barbara

One thing I used alot for OT; NT and th Book of Mormon was a bag full of
tablecloth-sized material. I used them for role playing. I was amazed at how
the kids really got into playing roles. The fabric was wrapped around their
heads, draped over shoulders, wrapped as skirts, etc. Throw some lengths of
rope( to tie on the head scarves and robes), a king's crown, something to
represent the bad guy ( a pitchfork out of cardboard . . .) and a white
cloth to use for the angel or heavenly messenger. The wooden handle of a
broom was used alot, as well. I kept these things in a large plastic tub,
and we used them year after year.
