My understanding is that once you have worked out your salvation and paid 
your dues, you are assigned to your kingdom and that is where you stay. 
However, I believe you can visit downwards, but not upwards.  The only 
reference I can think of is that of  King David who is still (or was at the 
time that Joseph Fielding Smith made the statement) paying his debt for his 
sins, and would then go on to inherit a Telestial home - his family being 
lost to him forever.   I'll keep looking.
