this is just a thought i had--section 76 was given in February 1832.  Joseph and Sidney were tarred and feathered in March 1832.  I wonder if that vision prepared them to withstand this and future persecutions.  I am going to ask my students what they think of that.  I will probably also point out something about how great spiritual experiences are generally followed by an increase in opposition (Moses' vision in Moses 1, Joseph's first vision, etc.)
