[Teachldsseminary] ? about last night's fireside

Does anyone know if there is a place to get a printed copy (or a 
tape)  of
the talks from the New Year's Eve fireside for the youth that was held  
last
night?  
 
It was so good, but only 5 of the youth and a few of the  
leaders
attended in our ward.
 
I'm so sorry that the printed copy hasn't been  released yet!  I too am dying 
to read it and use it in seminary.  As a  side note - the bishops were told 
that it would only be broadcast via the church  satellites at buildings in a 
directive they received from the first presidency  regarding the fireside and 
appropriate New Years eve celebrations.  
 
I think the reason, and I am just speculating  here, is in your statement "It 
was so good, but only 5 of the youth and a  few of the leaders attended in 
our ward."  Those who attended were rewarded  for their obedience and the effort 
they made to attend. Sometimes, we are so  desperate to have our youth feel 
the spirit or to learn and grow that we make it  TOO easy.  Testimonies take 
effort and faith.  Learning is active not  passive.  Going to the fireside 
definitely took effort and faith for those  who attended.  It was an exercise in 
faith from the Prophet.  Isn't he  awesome!!!!!
 
Also, another reason may be that there is power  in numbers.  It's wonderful 
to feel the spirit and listen to the prophet  and look all those wonderful 
youth sitting together taking it in!!!!  I  hope they could look around and see 
that they are not alone.  Their are  many faithful youth just like them!!!
 
The above is in no way an indictment of those  who didn't go.  Everyone gets 
to make the choice and all of us  chose.....whatever we did.  I'm sorry there 
was a misunderstanding with the  bishop who didn't know that it wouldn't be on 
KBYU.  That's a  bummer!!!!!
