I am looking for the poem and instructions that go along with using a large
nail...signifying the nails used on the cross at Jesus' crucifixion

Here are a few more poems I found:

It's Christmas time at our house
and we're putting up the tree.
I wish I could find some simple way
to remember Christ's gift to me.
Some little sign or symbol
to show friends stopping by,
The little babe was born one day
but He really came to die.
Some symbol of His nail-pierced hands,
the blood He shed for you and me.
What if I hung a simple nail
on my shining Christmas tree?
A crimson bow tied round the nail
as His blood flowed down so free,
To save each person from their sin
and redeem us for eternity.
I know it was His love for us
that held Him to the tree,
But when I see this simple nail
I know He died for me.
Our Savior, Light of the World Rejoicing, we tell the Nativity story, when
the Light of the World came in brilliance and glory. But still we remember
there is more to be told -- His great sacrifice that was yet to unfold . . . For
His mission as Savior could not be complete until heavy nails pierced His
hands and His feet. So may we recall both the gift of His birth, and the gift
of salvation He gave to all on earth. --Lisa O. Engelhardt.
Merry Christmas

are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at
Christmas-time." ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
