[Teachldsseminary] QUESTION: Makeup Work

I think I would do a variety of things.
*I don't have the recommended schedule in front of me ... just an
abreviated one that I used in OT last time and if I'm looking at my old
schedule correctly the second semester would be 2 Samuel on. Obviously
to do that much book work would be a little overwhelming. I think I
would look at the student manual and choose areas to have her do the
student work. I think I would for sure have her do the book work for
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel since that is a large chunk of the
second semester. Since she is trying to do it within a month, it might
be helpful to suggest getting David Ridges Old Testament Made Easier
and that might be helpful to help get through these hard chapters in
the quickest and easiest way possible. Doing Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel
and Daniel could be about 7 weeks of credit.

*Perhaps listening and / or reading general conference and giving you
abrievated notes of why those messages were important enough to be
given at general conference. (Each session could equal 3 days and so
all four could be over 2 weeks of makeup if you choice this option.
There is nothing wrong with including the Priesthood session and this
could equal another 3 days. Doing all five sessions could equal 3 weeks
of credit.

*Write a term paper about prophet(s) or people of the second semester.
Job is in the second semester, Esther, rise and fall of David and
Solomon, Malachi and how his prohesies are being fullfilled today. etc.
Why Isaiah? With a good term paper and obvious not just copy and
pasteing (perhaps using some of the current general authorities as
quotes etc. I think I would give her up to another 2 weeks of credit.

* Watch the videos with a guideline that you have given with questions
that she needs to answer while watching. There are six that fit into
the second semester - this could be another 2 weeks.

Just some thoughts!
Carolyn
