For my few minutes of SM at the beginning of this lesson, I used the Wing 
Ding font and made D&C 8:2-3 in symbols. I double spaced it to have room for 
my students to try to "translate it."

I didn't tell them ahead of time what it was but as they got frustrated 
would "reveal" a symbol and it's letter equivalent.  After about six clues 
and five minutes I "revealed" it was a SM.  They were able to get it and 
fill the rest in.  That was a great introduction for D&C 8-9 about Oliver 
translating.
