Reply to: On the topic of passing off SM, is it common practice everywhere
to have a 'pass-off day'? Over here we have parents and CES people come and
listen to the students repeat all the verses in order to pass them
off......in one morning. If they do this then they earn themselves a
certificate. OR....do students pass off the verses throughout the year as
they wish?

In our stake they get a sticker on their certificate if they have 'passed
off' all the verses some time during the year and another something (last
year it was a charm for those stretchy silver charm bracelets) if they can
match all the verses and keywords. What we do is study each verse for a
week. During that week (or any time thereafter) they pass off the verse.
Throughout the year (and, of course, a lot right before the test!) we do
activities to learn all the keywords and references.
