Subject: [Teachldsseminary] IDEA: SM charts

The SM charts that Miriam asked about in her email can be found at
http://latter-dayvillage.com/proddetail.php?prod=sm_dccharts

Here is the description about those SM charts:

'This immediate download (1.5MB) contains 125 D&C Scripture Mastery charts
in PDF format that you can immediately print and use to help students
memorize.

Charts are designed in five different difficulty levels (types) to
accommodate different levels of ability, motivation, and preparation. In the
beginning, students will gravitate to a difficulty level that is
comfortable, even easy. As they experience success with the easier charts,
they will choose to move to greater difficulty'.

These are the categories:
Full Text
Fill Blanks
Double Blanks
First Letters
Keywords

The immediate download of these .pdf files cost 6 dollars, and even though
it is in English I decided to buy it, so that I could get an idea about
making the same kind of charts into Dutch. I printed the text with full text
on colored paper (and laminated them myself), and it turned out great. It is
a lot of work to create these files all by yourself, so this is an easy way
to get a lot of SM charts, in various styles. When you have them you have
always something to fall back on when you have a blank moment about teaching
SM.

I am teaching early morning seminary to my son, and I am the group teacher
in our ward for the other seminary students, on Friday night. So we had some
time left during one morning and practiced one of the SM verses. I showed
him the one about 'Fill the blanks', so that he could see the SM while I
would say it out loud. He had a lot of fun when I made a mistake and when he
could tell me I did :)

Thanks to the one who made them! I think that especially the one with the
Full text (and highlighted words) is fun; the text is written down in an bit
unusual way, and I personally think that this way the SM comes more to life
(Dutch expression).
