I made a wooden board similar to those for family home evening with 14
pegs (number of students)
and over each peg is a class responsibility. ( I have freshmen who are
learning about seminary and
sophomores, some needing a refresher.) Tags with student names can move
from peg to peg.
The President serves for three weeks
The V. Pres for those three weeks and then becomes president for three
weeks.
Secretary serves for 2 weeks.(does roll) - they train their replacement.
Other responsibilities change every week:
Security - locks the outside door 10 minutes after class starts
Audio Visual, Scripture Mastery, Teacher (gets teaching assignment that
week,
Early Bird Q. who takes care of the early bird quiz and reward.
Mr. Clean (sees trash off floor and tables cleared, etc each day)
and others, you can see what your class needs are.
Anyone without a specific assignment is a "Volunteer" that week, so
when I
ask for a volunteer, their "job" is to volunteer cheerfully.
It is working well for us - as responsibilities change, I'm seeing them
become more aware
of being responsible for things not their assignment that week. The
main goal was
to give each of them opportunities to learn leadership and "follow-ship"
I'm very grateful for all the ideas from you master teachers. Thanks.
Therese
