I had an experience today that I knew you Seminary teachers would enjoy. I
was teaching about witnesses, -yes, I know I am behind, we start the second
week in September and I do a lot of things up front to make me successful
the rest of the year, and I will catch up - but anyway, I was doing the
exercise suggested in the teaching outline about the contaminated water.
Well, to say the least it was not going well. The kids were more worried
about whether it was true or not and about the water they had drank that
morning. I was about to give up and just move on when one of the boys in my
class spotted a raccoon trying to join us in class with his paws and nose on
the glass door in our room that leads outside. He was the only one that saw
it and as soon as he saw it and mentioned it, it was gone. Wala, I had my
example. I asked how many believed him. And how many would believe if
someone else had seen it. The timing was impeccable. I could not have
planned it and had it work out that way. Just one of God's tender mercies.
The student was so embarrassed that he had mentioned it, but I assured him
that it was great and couldn't have been timed better.
