Hi all! I used a game today to teach D&C 63 and I thought I'd share because
it worked really well. I called it 'Saved". I split the class into teams and
spread 'cards', that I had made, out in the middle of the table. The cards
were in the shape of men but that's not really necessary - just nice. On the
back of each card was a letter: either an S, A, V, E, or D. Then I asked
questions about section 63. The first team to find the answer grabbed the
'answer ball' that we use in my class for all games of this sort, and told
me the verse the answer was in and the answer to the question. If they were
right, they could choose a card. Then we moved on to the next question. If
they picked a letter they already had, it went back in the pile. The winning
team was the first to spell 'saved' with their cards. Between questions we
often stopped to discuss the answers. The kids were really engaged and I
always find the class goes better when the kids are looking in the
scriptures for answers rather than me just telling them what's there. All in
all a great day in seminary. I hope yours was too!
