I have had wonderful success with my kids using 1st letter cards.  We  all 
have the first 10 or so memorized, passed off and stickers on our  chart.  Of 
course, I will continue to go over them and play  short games, and do things 
with the kids during our devotional.  But  they are thrilled and are anxious each 
morning to see if they can  continue.  1st letter cards are magical.  It's so 
nice to see such  astounding success even with the kids that don't seem to 
memorize as  quickly.  And they love getting those stickers on the chart.
    
My kids got extremely bored with introducing them all at once, it took  a 
chunk out of our day.  I tried doing 2 a day, marking, writing the  key words, 
reading the verses...it just seemed to weigh us all down every  day.  We did it. 
 But I am not sure I would do that again.  Maybe  after 3 years of teaching I 
still don't have the hang of SM.  We also do  not have Fridays to play games 
and work on SM, as I have mentioned before our  local CES office has done away 
with most of them.  It's particularly  challenging but I am trying to be 
obedient.
