Try music - we used the musical recordings and they helped a lot.

Remember this - mastery means knowing the meaning and interpretation of the
scripture and where to find it - not "just" memorizing it.  Focus on
teaching the doctrines and helping them be familiar with where the
scriptures are when they are presented with a real life situation in which
they need that particular scripture (missionary, family teaching, personal
study/growth).  Memorizing follows familiarity and usage.

Have fun with it.

This is my first year and I feel like I"m dragging my feet with SM.  We have
been in EMS for 3 months now, with a total of 3 wks. off during that time
for school conferences, fall break, inservice days, etc.  My girls have
memorized 4 of the SM, but been introduced to 7 SM verses.  I know some of
you all introduce them all at the beginning of Seminary.  
My plan was to have one passed off weekly, but that's not happening. 

How do you all do it?  Do you introduce them, then go back and learn them to
pass them off?  I guess I have been waiting until it is learned and passed
off before going on to the next one. 

Suggestions?
