[Teachldsseminary] CHAT - Christmas

At our inservice this week a suggestion was made to have a small artificial tree that the students decorate with items that remind them of the Savior. One item used was a pair of glasses because the Savior helps us to see the way back home. A light bulb for lighting our way is another suggestion. They can be any item as long as the student can relate it to the Christmas season and our Savior. Even food as the scriptures feed our souls and we hunger after truth and righteousness.

   Hope this helps.

  HI all,
For the Christmas season, I'd like to have an advent calendar/activity at
the beginning of each class to help the kids (and me) focus on the Savior.
The only advent calendars I can find are the ones with chocolate in them and
that's not what I'm after. Does anyone have ideas on where I can find
calendars without chocolates, or how I can very easily make some kind of
visual for counting down the season that will focus us on the 'reason for
the season'?
Thanks, Dana
