Just wondering if anyone has thought about journals for the kids this year?

My kids absolutely loved the journals I used last year that were spray
painted gold. (An idea I got from one of you more experienced teachers.) One of
the ideas I have come up with is to decopage a picture of Joseph Smith (I
have 3 different portraits I will use for variety) on the front of the journals.
(I bought the Composition Books that are available now just prior to school
and on sale and in lots of fun colors.) I probably will spray paint the
inside and the back covers that have the "Class Schedule and Charts" on them to
cover them up. I also have some old parchment paper that runs through my
printer really well so I thought of making some kind of a Title Page. I also
thought that I would have a page with my theme for the year "HEARKEN!" (It's the
very first word used by the Lord in the D&C and an important word that means
to hear and obey) on it with some scripture references from the D&C that
will help them understand the importance of "hearkening" to the Lord's own
words and His Prophets.

But I am open to other ideas since I haven't started yet.

Hope your summer is restful and relaxing!
