This is from my how to use the scriptures effectively lesson that we teach
in the NT year:
Italicized Words in the Bible. Explain that italicized words in the King
James Version of the Bible are words the translator inserted to render a
correct English reading. When the Bible was translated from Greek and
Hebrew, a direct translation into English was not always possible.
Therefore, it was necessary to insert words in order for the scriptures to
be grammatically correct.

Subject: [Teachldsseminary] OT Italics
Hi!
I am teaching a class, and was looking for the quote that talks about why
we
have italics in the scriptures. I have tried every word combination I can
think of! But wanted to get a source for the quote... HELP!
