I learned something from a public school teacher my children had. He taught 
Social Studies/History. The first day of school he taught this amazing letter 
on mummies including how they removed the brain and organs to mumify them. The 
kids came home wowed and couldn't stop talking about class. The other teachers 
spent the first day going over rules and policys, handing out supplies etc.

I try to follow his fine example and spend the first day on a wonderful 
spiritual lesson. There is plenty of time later in the week to hand out stuff and 
go over policys etc.
