Another fun group activity is to have a scavenger hunt through the
neighborhood:
1- break into groups and see if there is any service in the neighborhood
that needs to be done. give the kids 1 hour to clean up a yard, hang some
Christmas lights, walk a dog, etc. The neighbor can write their name and the
service done to give the group credit. Have a camera for each group. If the
camera is digital, the pictures can be quickly burned onto a disc and shown
during snacks
2- trade up: give each group a small item (candle, band aid, candy bar, etc)
then have them go through neighborhood trying to trade what they have for
something "bigger". After 1/2 hour, see how well each team did
3- Food Pantry collection- send each team through the neighborhood to
collect non-perishable food to be donated to the local food pantry. See
which team received more item, received the most weight, etc.
4 S.E.M.I.N.A.R.Y- have each team try to fin items in the neighborhood that
begin with each letter of seminary. give them a time limit.

Have fun!
