Here's something seasonal to introduce the Joseph Smith Translation. The JST 
was needed because plain and precious things had been taken away from the 
Bible (1 Ne. 13:28). Through revelation, Joseph Smith (the seer in Moses 
1:41) restored the plainness.

For Section 73, I am typing up the first line of some familiar Christmas
songs and having an online site translate them.  English to Spanish, Spanish
to French, French to German, German to English.  We will spend a little bit
of time discussing the confusion that results with multiple translations,
especially when the spirit of revelation is left out.  Then I want to
introduce the following quote to them and have a brief class discussion.
"Joseph Smith's inspired translation of the Bible was one of the
pivotal developments of his work as a prophet and has had a profound
influence on the Church. Joseph's knowledge about the principles of the
gospel and God's work with His ancient prophets and people increased
immensely through this project." (Prophet Was Influenced by Translating the
Bible, LDS Church News, 1997, 05/17/97).

Ok, I am stumped.  I cannot think of one thing to do with these sections.  i
have read them and read them and checked out the manual and the student
manual and i am coming up with a big fat ZERO.  HELP!! anyone out there with
ANY ideas to teach these?  i am about to just make a crossword puzzle so the
kids have to at least get into the scriptures.
