This is a very moving story but it overlooks one important point:" Behold,  
he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven and I the Lord remember  
them no more."  D&C 58:42.
 
The beauty of the Atonement and the gift of forgiveness is that we don't  
have to keep remembering our sins or hold onto the guilt associated with  them.  
So in this story, after Jesus signs off on all those sins  recorded on 
cards--don't you think they  would  be destroyed?
