Just Thought I'd share what we do every year in my class in Dec. I made
out of colored Bulletin board paper and taped up a fireplace, then the
kids each decorated a mini stocking with their name on it. I then
stapled them to a paper mantel. The kids drew secret santa names and
every morning in their stocking is a smalll piece of candy with a
different clues taped to it. IF they are there on time they go to their
stocking and pull out the candy with the slip of paper on it. For ex.
"Revelation is great" is written on the slip that is taped. On the back
I've hand written 8:2-3. The students have to get it right in order to
keep it, If they get it wrong they then have to give their candy to
their secret santa secretly after they have ripped off the slip of
paper. That's how they know it's from their secret Santa if it has no
paper. Every day after class I take out all the candy still in
stockings and start again filling them the next day.
           ALSO, for our devotional-
We have made a paper chain with only the days we are in Seminary (a
countdown) until Chritmas break. Each link has a name of Jesus Christ.
For ex.
BREAD of LIFE
Then the person conducting (I rotate between all students, since I don't
believe in putting one student above another- they are all equal to me)
that day goes and rips off the chain for that day and reads "THE BREAD OF
LIFE" she then teaches : here's the outline for this one

What are things we need to be alive? (may need to give clues) Food is a
very importnat part of survival. Can you imagine how you would feel
after a few days of no food? READ John 6:48 Jesus is called the bread
of Life. Read John 6:47 Why is Jesus called that? What "life" are we
talkign about? Quite simply, w/out him we would die... but w/ him we
live forever with God. But also, our lives here can be so much more
peaceful, meaningful,
Christ is the Bread of LIFe

I have many more names and "mini" lessons. If you are interested in doing
this I'd be happy to send them to you BUT email me privately so we don't
clog the list.

Merry Christmas to you all
