I, too, passed off this SM to my class (using the first letter cards) earlier in the year. Believe me, it took a lot of effort. I was found with my SM cards while riding in the car, walking the golf course while my husband played golf, waiting at doctor's appointments. I have challenged my students to memorize this one, using the first letter cards, and assured them that it would take a lot of time and effort, but I bore testimony to them that it would be worth it. So far no one has attempted to pass it off. This discussion has reminded me to challenge them again. I need to remind them to keep their SM cards with them in their backpacks and pull them out in the car or anytime they have a few minutes of free time.

Tips on Memorizing JS-H 1:15-20
I worked on memorizing this scripture this summer and passed it off to my
students the first day of Seminary and I challenged the students to do the
same. I did have one student who passed it off before Seminary began. He
isn't one who has an easy time memorizing. I require my students to pass
off the Scripture Masterys' word perfect to their parents the first time so
the parents will be involved, and any time a week later pass it off to me.
Tips:
*Say the scripture out loud three times every day (hearing yourself repeat
it helps)
*Visualize it as you say it
*Learn it in phrases
Other helps are to have the scripture on one side of a paper and the first
letter on the other side.
Practice saying it with first letter as far as you can then flip over the
paper if you need help with a word, have the students write the first
letter. You can memorize one verse at a time then memorize the next adding
it to the first.
Yes, this scripture is possible but not without effort. It is very worth
the effort!
