We also have a small branch. I do scripture mastery by going over all of
them the first week, marking them in their scriptures, introducing my
practice website (which is not yet up and functional for D&C, only the
schedule is there now-- http://www.quia.com/pages/ldsseminarydnc.html ), and
doing the Magic Square thing (found on the ldsces.org site--search site for
magic square--
http://www.ldsces.org/cesconference/DandC/CESConference2002000_53.pdf .
After that, we learn/memorize one SM per week. The students do devotionals
by assignment. Usually the idea that Susie does it every Tuesday, Johnnie
every Wed. works best for us. If they aren't there, I do it. Ours is
simple, hymn (with computer Internet accompaniment from church hymn
website), prayer, thought about SM with scripture chain links or application
ideas, thoughts on last night's reading assignment. It works for us.
This year I'm going to try the oral reading idea of Susie reads all verses
ending in 1, Johnnie verses ending with 2, etc. Since we don't have enough
for each to have one, they'll have two or three, but it should work.
