Then, way back when, David Kennison had a website that was invaluable 
for church history - since he became the head of the church website, he 
took down his personal website.  But you can access old archives via the 
Internet Archive.  It doesn't always work, but you can find most stuff.  
He's the one who started LDS-Gems.
