[Teachldsseminary] seating issues....

My approach to seating is to "mix things up"
I never assign seats, but completely rearrange the room and seating at least
two to three times a week. I've done this for classes of anywhere from
8-30.
I Change from Circle to rows, to semi circles, sitting on the floor etc.,
It makes things a little more interesting and also breaks up "groups or
cliques" I do this sometimes after devotional and have the kids
rearrange themselves into groups for the lesson based on what activites we
are doing. Often I will break them up by eye color, shoe color,
hair color - different things that tend to mix them up as well. When
I teach in the church, I also change rooms - I've done a lot of fun things
in the cultural hall.
I have taught for 7 years and never had to resort to assigned seats.

I like to seat my students in a semi-circle so that there is no room for a
front or a back seat. That way, everyone can participate and be a part of
the group. Just a suggestion
