We agree; the Institute Manual and Fullness of Times are invaluable!
However, teachers often struggle with 'how' to teach more than 'what' to
teach. That is why we the Seminary Filing Cabinet; it is full of
applications, object lessons and presentation ideas to help the students
grasp and retain important principles and doctrines. The best part is that
we file the information by lesson block - you do not have to search through
a mountain of material in order to find one that applies to tomorrow's
class!

In addition, this year we added the Annotated Scriptures as a scripture
based doctrinal resource. It provides the entire History of Church cross
references to each section of the Doctrine and Covenants with annotations
from the General Authorities. As one CES Director said, "Words cannot
express how impressed I am with what you have done. You have put together
the best "Scripture manual" ever produced in the Church. It is better than
any commentary, because you are quoting from authoritative sources and not
muddying up the water with opinions."

New seminary teachers sometimes invest hundreds of dollars in resources to
enhance and understand the lessons that they will teach. One of our guiding
principles is to offer these resources at a minimal cost in one location,
already indexed by lesson, chapter and verse - perhaps because that is what
we struggled with when we first received this great calling/appointment.
