HOW THE VILLAGE DOWNLOAD DEPOT CLUB WORKS

MONTHLY DUES

When you subscribe to the CLUB, you pay a monthly subscription fee of $7.95 that is automatically charged to your credit card on the same day each month. While your subscription is active, you can access the CLUB page and download the two new monthly ORIGINAL ART collections, one seasonal and one LDS themed, and the two new original fonts, and any other extras that might be featured that month. The collections and fonts are available from the first to the last day of each month.

For instance - if you subscribe in January, you will be able to download the January collections through the last day of January. The next day, all the January collections will be removed. The February collections will become available the first day of February and so on.

Your subscription goes from the day of the month that you first subscribe to that same day in the next month. Often this will span two months, so it is like getting an extra month of the club for free!

CANCELLING MEMBERSHIP

You can cancel at any time, HOWEVER - once you cancel, you won't be able to resubscribe to the club later that year. When you cancel, you will no longer have access to the club, and the next payment will not be billed. There are no refunds for the payments already made, so be sure to download any collections available before you cancel.

DOWNLOADING

The collections are Self-extracting exe zipped files which you download to your computer - if you don't have another place you like to download zipped files, just save them to your desktop, and once you've unzipped them, you can delete the exe file. To unzip the exe file, just click on it and it will unzip and automatically save the collection to a new C:\DownloadDepot folder on your hard drive - each club collection will be stored in it's own subfolder within that folder.

VIEWING COLLECTIONS

Each collection comes with a table of contents webpage called "ReadMeFirst.htm" that opens in your web browser. The images are organized so there is a small graphic link or text link to each full-size image in the folder. Click on the link and the full-size image will open in your browser. With the full-size image in your browser window, you can click and drag it from that window into a document where you want to place it, or into the workspace of a graphic editing program, or print it directly from the browser. Instructions for inserting images and printing are included with each collection.

WHAT IF I FORGET!!!???

We know you are busy, so each time a new collection is added, or any extras are added to the Club, you will receive an email message. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS UPDATED WITH LDV!!! Otherwise we will not be able to contact you - and if we cannot contact you, we may have to delete your membership to avoid a backlog of bounced messages.

I LIKE A CERTAIN COLLECTION BUT DON'T NEED THE OTHER COLLECTIONS

Once a collection is removed at the start of a new month, it will be added as a separate stand alone digital download product in our store - at a minimum of $6.95 each. So by joining the club, you are getting $13.90 worth of art each month for only $7.95 a month. This is a great savings for club members, but it also allows users to buy just one collection at a time. Past collections will be listed with links to their product page in our store, or just visit our Village Download Depot to see all our digital download products.

WHAT'S IN A COLLECTION?

Each Club Collection comes with at least 30 images. You can preview the collections on the main Club page. These will be by one artist in one style to one theme. They will all go together nicely so you can mix and match the images in your projects. They will include backgrounds, borders, spot images, etc that you can insert into documents or edit in graphics editing programs to add your own photographs and text.

The objects are .png files so they have transparent backgrounds and you will be able to layer them - insert one image and then insert another one so it overlaps, but the area around the object is clear so the image underneath still shows through - no white boxes around the objects to block what's underneath.

The background images are .jpg files and do not have transparent backgrounds because they are solid or nearly solid images. They are smaller files, so whenever it applies, we saved them as jpg images so they wouldn't take up so much space and download faster.

Put background down, layer the object with the transparent background on top and see the result!

WHAT DO I DO WITH A FONT?

BE CREATIVE!!!!

Each font is an original true type font and can be installed into your system fonts folder. You can either just copy it into your font folder, or go through your control panel and fonts to install it from where ever you first downloaded it.

Once it is installed, you can use it in any program! You can type letters in it - or make handouts/posters/greeting cards etc. It will work like any other font on your computer. Not every character your computer is capable of writing is included in these new fonts, but the most common ones are, so you should be able to use them for most everyday projects.

This means you can change the color and size etc and write whatever text you want - you can then print your text onto any paper you want and cut it out for scrapbooking and other craft projects.

Some of the artistic lettering our artists design does not work as an installable font - in that case, we will create an alphabet set - and save each letter as a separate image file that you can insert as needed to create titles, captions etc in your craft/scrapbooking projects.
