Linda Mitchell, founder of Heaven
Scent handcrafted bath
products, hales from Conyers,
Georgia where she teaches
early morning seminary.
Linda says, "After years
of suffering dry itchy
skin from commercial
soaps I knew there had
to be a better way. After
extensive experimentation
with different oils and
ingredients I have finally
created a soap that makes
my skin feel soft and smooth. It
was truly HEAVEN SCENT!"

The handcrafted soaps and toiletries from HEAVEN
SCENT contain only the
highest-quality food-grade
vegetable oils available. "The base
of my soaps is Olive Oil, known for its conditioning
properties. I also use
Coconut Oil for the large,
long lasting lather and
Palm oil to make the soap
hard - to last a long time
in your shower. I use Caster
oil for its creamy moisturizing
lather. " Linda
also adds other skin-nourishing
ingredients such as natural
spring water or goats milk, gentle oils, oatmeal, and spices.
"I have been doing this for 9 years. I
am very allergic to
commercially made soaps
and this is the only
thing I can use. I
went 20 years without
using soap because
it would break me out
so much. Someone gave
me some handmade soap
and it was wonderful
to use soap again!
I spent a year working
on a formula that worked for my skin and when I found the
perfect formula for me, I found it worked well for others!
I don't make soap for oily skin, only for
people with very dry skin."
All
the products have been
tested and approved by
Linda's family. Heaven
Scent soap is handcrafted
in seven-pound batches
and hand cut into bars. Each
wonderful bar is allowed to dry at least six weeks so it will harden and last
longer.
"I sell my soaps 'naked' (no wrapping)
because they are to
be used and not just
put on a pretty dish to
make your bathroom
smell good. It is a
big selling draw at the shows that my soaps
are to be used and
not just displayed
because they smell
good - which they do!
They come with an information
card (ingredients,
any herbs present,
if color is used, etc)
but they do come naked."
Heaven Scent soaps, lip balms, belly balms, shampoo
bars, bath oils and bath
salts are sold by Linda
at festivals, home shows
and arts & craft fairs
in Georgia, but "I have people as far away as Washington
State buy my soap." Now,
they are available to our
worldwide online community
at Latter-day Village. SEE
