Dear {$user.name_f}:
We hope you are making progress through the winter doldrums (northern hemisphere). Here in the western US our weather has been very challenging, which just compounds all of those dark early mornings. However, our weather has improved, the temperatures are climbing, and March Madness has taken over.
MARCH MADNESS
If you did not see this in our last all members newsletter, we repeat this March Madness information.
One of our most popular wintertime seminary activities is March Madness. In past years Linda Harper got us all involved with the college basketball themed activity that can be as wild and wacky as you want to make it. Linda's 2007 DC March Madness is now online, and we made several past versions available here for reference. NOTE: the basic game outline and play does not change, only the clues, which should be DC based this year.
The madness is in the consequence slips that a player must draw when they miss a basketball shot. From personal experience, this activity can get your students into scripture mastery or class learning like nothing else. Just say "when we finish this (activity, lesson, test) we can play March Madness for 10 minutes. You keep your teams scores (and members; they change) running throughout the month of March. It is the right carrot to dangle, a WINNER.
FAITH in EVERY FOOTSTEP BOARD GAME
Margene von Forell provided a unique board game for use with the Trek west. It does take some preparation, so we wanted to let everyone know about it now.
There are several other activites in her Trek West lessons, including a Mormon Battalion game; to see if you want to use any of her learning activities visit this filing cabinet category:
We should also note that we completed entering ALL of Margene's DC lesson plans and activities into the filing cabinet.

SUBMIT YOUR IDEAS
Note that there are now more than 1000 DC Church History specific articles in the filing cabinet, not including the 29 DC related scripture mastery items. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this collossal collection.
We had good participation after last newsletter's request for ideas. To repeat, there are seminary classes being taught all around the world, some in the most obscure and remote places. Your idea could be a scripture mastery game, object lesson, devotional, teaching tip, lesson quote or resource, or a complete Readiness /Participate /Application gem. Perhaps you typed up a list of questions or SM clues; whatever it is, even if you used it several months ago, share it now. Someone, somewhere, sometime, will benefit from your willingness to share.
You can share in several ways:
Thanks in advance for your willingness to participate in this with all of the site community members.
Best Regards,
