Dear {$user.name_f}:

WHAT's NEW AT LDV

For some time now Debra and I have been writing an LDV blog that details what is new and upcoming at LDV. To see it, click What's New in either the Leisure or Support main menu. Or you can just visit:

http://blog.latter-dayvillage.com, which also works. Some of what you will read there include:

OUR MENU'S HAVE CHANGED

  • We changed our main menu entry ‘Inservice’ to ‘Resources’. Feedback and research told us that only long-time church members still associate the term ‘Inservice’ with training and resources, so we decided to choose a more recognizable word. Perhaps we will have to do less explaining with this simple fix.
  • Added menu items for our Village Download Depot Club, in both the Resources and Leisure categories. We are very proud of this new concept, a monthly collection of LDS oriented, downloadable clipart (and fonts), and want to make sure everyone can find information about it.
  • Fixed some bad menu links. There were no really broken links, just some better page choices.
  • Pointed the What’s New menu to our blog.
  • Updated the LDS links menu entries to point to the new links pages

NEW LDS LINKS SYSTEM

We upgraded our LDS links system to a commercial product that makes it easier for us to add and maintain all of the links we list. Our LDS links have a two-fold purpose:

  1. Provide our members with access to other internet resources that can help with their church callings or family life.
  2. Give us a mechanism to expand and encourage other sites to exchange links with us. This drives more traffic to our site; which in turn allows us to continue to improve what we offer.

SEMINARY NEWS

SEMINARY FILING CABINET

We finally finished putting all of Margene Von Forell's DC lessons into the filing cabinet. We only have one more file to go; we will be adding her "Faith in Every Footstep" board game within a week or so.

Note that there are now more than 1000 DC Church History specific articles in the filing cabinet, not including the 27 DC related scripture mastery items. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this collossal collection.

MARCH MADNESS

One of our most popular wintertime activities is March Madness. Linda Harper got us all involved with the college basketball themed activity that can be as wild and wacky as you want to make it. Linda hasn't issued her DC version yet, but several past versions are available so you can prepare now. NOTE: the basic game outline and play does not change, only the clues, which should be DC based this year.
